Aspectos de avaliação da dor em pacientes com disfunção femoropatelar

The objective of this study was to accomplish a bibliographic review concerning the aspects of pain evaluation in patients with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS). The data were analyzed according to the following steps: identification of the theme from the guiding question; organizing the criteria for inclusion and exclusion of studies; removal of data of primary studies; evaluation of the studies to be developed in the review; interpretation of the results, and presentation of the bibliographic review. A bibliographic research was accomplished through search sources built by electronic resources in the following databases: Latin-American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), and in the electronic library Scientific Electronic Library On-line (SciELO), and PubMed search platform of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), published from 2015 to 2022. The descriptors used were: pain, evaluation, and Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome. According to the results, we’ve observed that the pain in women with PFPS, presents characteristics of pain intensity from low to moderate levels, and aspects of the presence of kinesiophobia. Furthermore, greater prior pain intensities are related to quadriceps muscle weakness.
