Percepção e presença dos sintomas osteomusculares em professores do ensino fundamental

Resumo: Teachers, when exposed to high levels of physical and psychological demands, can trigger various health problems, such as the appearance of musculoskeletal symptoms. The study in question focused on. Elementary school teachers in the public network of the city of Uberlândia - MG and aimed to analyze the perceptions of these professionals about teaching work and its relationship with musculoskeletal symptoms and to identify the presence of musculoskeletal symptoms in this group. It was a qualitative and quantitative research, with the application of a semi-structured questionnaire in 20 schools that offer teaching from the 6th to the 9th grade, with 176 responses and the realization of a focus group. For the quantitative part for that purpose were used The chi-square test ; the logistic regression; the calculation of the combined probabilities, using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software - version 22 for statistical analysis, whose hypotheses were tested at the α significance level of 0.05. For the qualitative part, the focus group analysis was through data coding, via content analysis. The teachers reported that the weight bearing, stress, inadequate postures, and the accumulation of functions provide the appearance of musculoskeletal symptoms. It was found that there was a high presence of musculoskeletal symptoms, and h the most affected body segments were related to working time, sex, diagnosis of depression, arterial hypertension, hearing loss and physical activity. It was also found that the probability of the teacher show musculoskeletal symptoms is 2.5 times higher when compared to those who works in an environment without noise.

O presente estudo teve como objeto os professores do ensino fundamental da rede pública do município de Uberlândia – MG e objetivou analisar as percepções destes profissionais sobre o trabalho docente e a sua relação com os sintomas osteomusculares e identificar a presença dos sintomas osteomusculares neste grupo. Tratou-se de pesquisa quali-quantitativa, com aplicação de questionário semiestruturado em 20 escolas que oferecem ensino do 6º ao 9º ano, com 176 respostas e a realização de um grupo focal. Para a parte quantitativa foi utilizado o Teste de qui-quadrado; empregada a regressão logística; o cálculo das probabilidades combinadas, por meio do software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - versão 22 para as análises estatísticas, cujas hipóteses foram testadas ao nível de significância α de 0,05. Para a parte qualitativa, a análise do grupo focal foi por meio da codificação dos dados, via análise de conteúdo. Os professores relataram que o carregamento de pesos, estresse, posturas inadequadas e acúmulo de funções proporcionam o surgimento dos sintomas osteomusculares. Verificou-se que houve uma elevada presença de sintomas osteomusculares, sendo que os segmentos corporais mais afetados apresentaram relação com o tempo de trabalho, sexo, diagnóstico de depressão, hipertensão arterial, perda auditiva e realização de atividade física.
