Resumo: | INTRODUCTION: The ergospirometric test is a procedure that evaluates the maximum physical performance during a maximum effort. It is usually used for diagnosis and prognosis of cardiovascular, pulmonary, as well as healthy people and for high-performance sports. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the cardiopulmonary variables of athletes of the Brazilian Paralympic Weightlifting and the Uberlândia team athletes. METHODS: With a cycloergometer of upper limbs (model EC4100), QUARK CPET PFT ERGO gas analyzer with paramagnetic oxygen sensor and cosmed face mask, the parathletes performed the ergospirometric test using the protocol of Cowan et al (2012) until exhaustion . The BORG scale was used to analyze peripheral muscle fatigue or dyspnea. RESULTS: A total of 27 parathletes were evaluated, with 11 parathletes of the weightlifting selection (G1) and 16 paratletes from the city of Uberlândia / MG (G2), who obtained the following results: Student's t test was used to compare the independent variables (VO2peak, peak time, load, minute volume and FC). Values of p <0.05 were considered. Peak time G1 (16.20 ± 2.5 min), G2 (13.81 ± 2.88 min) P = 0.035; Heart rate G1 (172.18 ± 19.13) bpm), G2 (157.25 ± 22.39 bpm) P = 0.84; G1 (87.82 ± 24.26 L / min), G2 (69.08 ± 20.56 L / min) and P = 0.04; VO2 peak G1 (21.37 ± 7.96 ml / kg / min), G2 (17.33 ± 4.78 ml / kg / min), P = 0.112; Load G1 (4.33 ± 1.20 Watts), G2 (3.13 ± 1.36 Watts) P = 0.023. CONCLUSION: It was concluded that the two groups presented VO2 and similar heart rate, however, the participants of the selection presented minute ventilation, test time and consequently imposed load higher than the other group. However, it was not possible to state the reason for the difference in results. More research is needed with this population for greater understanding. |

Tempo de pico G1(16,20 ±2,5 min), G2(13,81 ± 2,88 min) P=0,035; Frequência cardíaca G1(172,18 ± 19,13)bpm), G2(157,25 ± 22,39 bpm) P=0,84; Volume minuto G1(87,82 ± 24,26 L/min), G2 (69,08 ± 20,56L/min) e P=0,04; VO2 pico G1(21,37±7,96 ml/kg/min), G2(17,33±4,78 ml/kg/min),P=0,112; Carga G1(4,33 ± 1,20 Watts) , G2(3,13 ± 1,36 Watts) P=0,023.
