Resumo: The objective was to evaluate, under greenhouse conditions, the genetic resistance of colored cotton to the nematode Rotylenchulus reniformis, comparing agronomic trait variables, with the intention of indicating one or more genotypes for the development of new cultivars so that there are tools of management that superimposes on the biotic factors of the soil. The experimental design was randomized with four blocks and eight treatments. Plants, with 8 different types of genotypes, were inoculated with a suspension of 1000 nematode eggs and evaluated for resistance or susceptibility to Rotylenchulus reniformis. As a result, they were ethnic varieties in the number of nematodes per gram of root and in the reproduction factor. However, the cotton genotypes did not obtain resistance to the nematode.
