Resumo: Selection of mounted planters involves knowledge of several technical specifications, including maximum weight of the machine, in order to provide tractor stability and steering. This paper aims to analyze longitudinal stability of tractors with engine power up to 42.0kW, using three point hitch-mounted planters. Technical information of the tractors was collected from catalogs and directly from authorized dealers, including: rated engine power, total weight, distance between axles and distance between the rear axle and lower hitch point. For the planters with up to 3 rows the empty weight and weight of seed and fertilizer were determined. Results presented tractors of 11 brands and 32 models along with 11 brands and 32 models of planters. It was possible to obtain 1,024 combinations between tractors and planters, 352 of which would remain stable. The other 672 combinations would be not stable, potentially compromising longitudinal stability and handling of the tractors. In conclusion, the main variables that contributed to these results were low total weight, distance between axles and type of tractor (4x2 or front wheel assist), as well as its particularities for weight distribution between axles.

O presente trabalho teve o objetivo de analisar a estabilidade longitudinal de tratores com potência de até 42,0 kW no motor utilizando semeadoras adubadoras montadas no sistema de engate de três pontos. Para os tratores foram coletadas informações técnicas de catálogos e diretamente em revendas a potência do motor, peso total, distância entre eixos e distância do eixo traseiro ao olhal do braço inferior do engate. Nas semeadoras adubadoras até 3 linhas, determinou-se o seu peso vazio e o peso total de sementes e de adubo. Os resultados apresentaram 11 marcas e 32 modelos de tratores e 11 marcas e 32 modelos de semeadoras adubadoras. Chegou-se a um total de 1.024 combinações possíveis entre tratores e semeadoras adubadoras, tendo observado que destas 1.024 combinações, 352 delas permaneceriam estáveis, assim 672 ficaram não estáveis, podendo comprometer a estabilidade longitudinal e a dirigibilidade do trator.
