Reading an emancipatory tool: in the search for gender equality

Resumo: Reading is an emancipatory tool through which knowledge is unveiled, it leads historical subjects to the path of freedom. However, it is necessary to be involved in reading practices in order to be equipped with instruments in the struggle for a fairer society, without gender inequalities, without prejudice, discrimination, and intolerance, but with respect and empathy for diversity. In order to understand how reading practices can serve as a tool in the search for gender equality, in addition to describing the role of reading in the context of struggles for equality and using reading to change people's perspective, in understanding its role in the world. It is a qualitative study, descriptive through a bibliographic study. To reflect on the importance of reading as a tool for women's emancipation. It is concluded that reading practices bring with them the freedom of frames imposed by the patriarchal society that determines the standards to be followed. By having the domain of reading, access, encouragement, and mediation, one acquires the key to knowledge for oneself, and the freedom to move through all knowledge building new identities for a fairer and more egalitarian society, for all human beings without distinction of gender. In this sense, this reflection is not over and can be used as a basis for discussion or foundation for future academic research.

No entanto, é preciso estar envolvido em práticas de leitura para ficar munido de instrumentos na luta por uma sociedade mais justa, sem desigualdades entre os gêneros, sem preconceitos, discriminação e intolerância, mas com respeito e empatia para com as diversidades. Com o objetivo de compreender como as práticas de leituras podem servir de ferramenta na busca por igualdade de gênero, além de descrever o papel da leitura no contexto de lutas por igualdade, e, utilizar a leitura para mudar o olhar das pessoas, na compreensão do seu papel no mundo. Uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, quanto aos objetivos é descritiva de procedimentos bibliográfica. Com a finalidade de refletir sobre a importância da leitura como ferramenta de emancipação das mulheres. Conclui-se que práticas de leituras traz consigo a liberdade das molduras impostas pela sociedade patriarcal que determina os padrões a serem seguidos. Ao ter o domínio da leitura, acesso, incentivo e mediação adquire-se a chave do conhecimento para si e a liberdade de transitar por todos os saberes. Construindo novas identidades para uma sociedade mais justa e igualitária, para todos os seres humanos sem distinção de gênero.
