Resumo: | This paper aims to discuss the possible similarities and distinctions between space and territory, two key concepts of critical geography, often used interchangeably when regarded as a reference to the geographical dimension of social phenomena. For this, are presented and discussed the concepts of social space to Henri Lefebvre, geographical space (or used territory) to Milton Santos, and territory to Rogério Haesbaert. From a comparative approach between the three theoretical and conceptual formulations, we seek to show the agreement and disagreement between the authors, and possible intersections and distinctions between these concepts. It is considered that the concepts of space and territory, formulated in a critical perspective, are increasingly central to the understanding of the contemporary world. |
