Resumo: | Zygia P.Browne is a neotropical genus, belonging to the tribe Ingae ((Leguminosae-Mimosoideae), with about 57 species distributed from Central Mexico to Argentina, with the most species in Amazonian Peru. In this work they had been studied táxons specific and infra-specific of Zygia P. Browne that occurs in the Amazonian Brazil. The floristic study of these species was undertaken using specimens deposited in the principal herbaria of Amazonia: IAN, INPA and MG, as well as collections made between July and October 2007 in the biological reserves of INPA (RFAD, ZF2 and ZF3). The collected material was deposited in the INPA herbarium, and duplicates sent to the VIC herbarium of the University of Viçosa. Seventeen taxa were recorded for Amazonian Brazil. Identification keys and illustrations of these species are presented, as well as data on phenology, distribution by habitat and geographical distribution patterns. Only one species, Z. longifolia (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Britton & Rose, had a neotropical distribution, 13 taxa had a South American distribution: Z. ampla (Spruce ex Benth.) Pittier, Z. basijuga (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. cataractae (Kunth) L. Rico, Z. claviflora (Spruce ex Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. coccinea var. coccinea (G. Don) L. Rico, Z. inaequalis (Willd.) Pittier, Z. inundata (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. latifolia (L.) Fawc. & Rendle var. communis Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. latifolia (L.) Fawc. & Rendle var. lasiopus (Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. odoratissima (Ducke) L. Rico, Z. racemosa (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. ramiflora (Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes e Z. unifoliolata (Benth.) Pittier; and three had an exclusively Brazilian distribution: Z. juruana (Harms) L. Rico, Z. transamazonica Barneby & J.W. Grimes e Z. trunciflora (Ducke) L. Rico. Six distribution patterns for the Amazonian species within Brazil were distinguished. The most widely distributed species was Z. cataractae, which is present throughout Brazil. The majority of the taxa (11) occurred only in the northern region: Z. basijuga, Z. claviflora, Z. coccinea var. coccinea, Z. inundata, Z. juruana, Z. longifolia, Z. odoratissima, Z. ramiflora, Z. transamazonica, Z. trunciflora and Z. unifoliolata. Only Z. cataractae was common in both Atlantic and Amazonian Forests. Amongst the taxa studied, 12 occurred exclusively in tipically Amazoinian habitats: Z. ampla, Z. basijuga, Z. claviflora, Z. coccinea var. coccinea, Z. inaequalis, Z. inundata, Z. latifolia var. lasiopus, Z. racemosa, Z. ramiflora, Z. transamazonica, Z. trunciflora and Z. unifolilata. The wealth of species and the occurrence of the majority in restricted environments to the Amazonian Forest had demonstrated as the preservation of this is important bioma for the conservation of the biodiversity of Zygia. |

Apenas Z. longifolia (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Britton & Rose apresentou distribuição Neotropical; 13 táxons apresentaram distribuição Sul-americana: Z. ampla (Spruce ex Benth.) Pittier, Z. basijuga (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. cataractae (Kunth) L. Rico, Z. claviflora (Spruce ex Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. coccinea var. coccinea (G. Don) L. Grimes e Z. unifoliolata (Benth.) Pittier; e, três com distribuição exclusivamente Brasileira: Z. juruana (Harms) L. Rico, Z. transamazonica Barneby & J.W. Grimes e Z. trunciflora (Ducke) L. Rico. Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. coccinea var. coccinea (G. Don) L. Rico, Z. inundata (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. juruana (Harms) L. Rico, Z. longifolia (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Britton & Rose, Z. odoratissima (Ducke) L. Rico, Z. ramiflora (Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. transamazonica Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. trunciflora (Ducke) L. Rico e Z. unifoliolata (Benth.) Pittier. Pittier, Z. basijuga (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. claviflora (Spruce ex Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. coccinea var. coccinea (G. Don) L. Rico, Z. inaequalis, Z. inundata (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. latifolia var. lasiopus, Z. racemosa (Ducke) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. ramiflora (Benth.) Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. transamazonica Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Z. trunciflora (Ducke) L. Rico e Z. unifolilata (Benth.) Pittier.
