The scientific and technological knowledge has become an input for economic development. In this context, it is natural that the university as institution that generates and transmits knowledge has an important role. Considering the necessity of interaction between government entities and the private sector to speed the flow of innovation, the aim of this study was to analyze how happens at the Federal University of Viçosa actions to stimulate technological innovation, amid the demands of interaction of innovation policies in Brazil. First it was identified the internal agencies of the UFV related to the dynamics of technological innovation, they were: Directory for Research and Post-Graduation (PPG), Standing Committee on Intellectual Property (CPPI) and the Viçosa Technological Center for Regional Development (CENTEV) that congregates the Incubator of Technology Based Companies and Technology Park of Viçosa. From the agencies it was identified incentives from public funding and the main actions taken related to technological innovation. Data were obtained by a documental research, visits to these agencies, interviews with the dean of research and postgraduation, executive director of the CENTEV/UFV, chairman of the standing committee of intellectual property and entrepreneurial academic from UFV spin-offs. In addition, it was performed an analysis of the results of these local agencies related to innovations, which were: the scientific and technological research, intellectual property, technology transfer and generation of academic spin-offs. At the end of the study it was prescribed a process of innovation for the UFV aiming to interconnect the agencies and seeking to support the entrepreneurial activities of the UFV.
