Resumo: A doença periodontal provoca inflamação dos tecidos orais, podendo ocasionar perda de osso alveolar e conseqüentemente, de dentes. Tal patologia atinge cerca de 85% dos cães e gatos adultos, danificando a saúde desses animais como um todo. Assim, o presente estudo aborda tratamentos reconstrutivos ou regenerativos usualmente utilizados em correções periodontais, como os enxertos ósseos e a regeneração tecidual guiada (RTG).
