Resumo: The inclusion of components of the coconut of the macaúba was evaluated by measuring feed intake (Acrocomia aculeata) in the ration supplied to the animals during the dry season and milk production and composition. Two experiments were accomplished. In the first it was tested the peel of the coconut and the coconut without endocarp substituting in the amounts of 0, 0,4; 0,8 and 1,2 kg ration constituted of corn and soybean meal supply in the total of 2,5 kg daily. The concentrate was supplied in same amont, to the cows during the milking time twice a day in same parts, and the corn silage, in the morning. Eight crossbred cows Holstein-gir were aloted in two 4x4 Latin squares (one for peel and other for the coconut without endocarp), with average of 11 kg of milk/day. Samples of milk were collected and milk production of the animals was weighted at each end of period of evaluation of 10 days. The experiment was analyzed in Latin square design, including treatment effects (levels), Latin square (macauba sources), animal/Latin square and period/Latin square at 5% probability. The contents of dry matter, rude protein, neutral detergent fiber and lignin presented different values among the rations, however the daily production of milk was not significantly different among the rations. It is that the peel of coconut and the macauba coconut without endocarp triturated can be used up to 1,2 kg/animal day, in a total of 2,5 kg concentrate without affecting milk production of crossbred cows producting 11 kg of milk/day and receiving corn silage as forage. In the second experiment, three isoproteic rations containing 21% of rude protein were evalueted. Ration 1 (65% of corn meal and 35% of soy bean meal), Ration 2 (26% of corn meal, 37% of soy bean meal and 37% of macauba pulp) and Ration 3 (45% of corn meal, 20% of soy bean meal and 35% of e macauba nuts). The experiment was performed on confinement in the dry season with sugarcane and urea. It was used six crossbred Holstein-Gyr cows with 520±40 kg body weight, distributed in two 3x3 Latin squares (QL) repeated in time in six periods of 10 days. In the 10º day of each experimental period, samples of milk were collected by animal for composition analyses. The concentrate was supplied in the milking time, totaling 2,5 kg/cow day. The experiment was analyzed in Latin square, including treatment effects (levels), Latin square (macauba sources), animal/Latin square and period/Latin square at 5% probability. The dry matter intake didn't differ among the diets (P>0,05), as well as the sugarcane with urea intake. The neutral detergent fiber and ether extract intake were higher in the treatments that contained the by-products; macauba pulp and nuts, because they are rich in these constituents; however, the milk production and contents of fat tenors, protein, lactose and dry extract of the milk were not influenced by the treatments. Cows with mean production of 11 kg of milk/day can be fed up to 40% macauba pulp or nuts in the concentrate without effect on milk production and body weight changes.
