Resumo: É intenção do presente artigo trabalhar o pensamento social do historiador e militante político Edward Palmer Thompson. Aqui serão discutidas as análises de Thompson sobre as conexões entre as ações coletivas e as culturas populares inglesas do século XVIII. Também serão trabalhadas as polêmicas do autor inglês com seus críticos.
