Resumo: | Aeromonas are gram-negative bacilli-like bacteria found in different aquatic environments, including drinking water. However, certain species of Aeromonas are causing pathologies such as gastroenteritis, skin infection and septicemia. The objective of this work was to determine and analyze the genome of the strain Aeromonas sp. V15 isolated from potable water reservoir biofilm, as well as perform comparative genomic analyzes. The genome of the strain Aeromonas sp. V15 was determined and annotated, with its GC content of 61.8% and a total of 4,337 genes predicted, with 4,028 CDS (protein coding regions) and 144 structural RNA genes. At least 10 genes conferring resistance to antibiotics have been identified, with three genes conferring beta lactam resistance, five macrolide antibiotic resistance genes and two quinolone antibiotic resistance genes. It was identified genomic island that confer resistance to multi drugs, capacity to metabolize phosphonate and genes involved in synthesis of antigen O. Regarding the genes associated to virulence factors, genes involved in adhesion, motility and toxin synthesis were observed, as well as in secretion. The presence of the three pili, polar and lateral flagellar may be an indication that the strain Aeromonas sp. V15 is able to form biofilms and may have probably used this pathway to be present in drinking water. T3SS is considered one of the central factors for virulence in Aeromonas. This system of secretion has recently been described in Aeromonas dhakensis and in virulent strains, in addition the inactivation of this factor leads to drastic loss of virulence in Aeromonas hydrophila. The absence of T3SS was observed in this genome. This virulence factor is also absent in other strains of Aeromonas caviae involved in diarrhea and even in outbreaks, which may indicate that it may not be a central factor for virulence in Aeromonas caviae. The results obtained in this work can lead to the development of biomarkers and a greater understanding of the evolution, virulence, formation of biofilm and resistance to antibiotics in Aeromonas spp. |

Submitted by Janser dos Santos Nascimento (janser.nascimento@unigranrio.com.br) on 2020-01-07T18:56:14Z No. of bitstreams: 2 license_rdf: 0 bytes, checksum: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e (MD5) Victor Hugo Moreira.pdf: 4165539 bytes, checksum: 626efb0a7376de7ec7136ee1aeb621c9 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2020-01-07T18:56:14Z (GMT).
