Resumo: This article aims to analyze the causes of permanence and evasion of students of vocational technical courses offered by the Colégio Agrícola Vidal de Negreiros (CAVN), located in the Center of Human, Social and Agrarian Sciences, campus III of the Federal University of Paraíba. The methodology of this study is qualitative based and was based on the semi-structured interview instrument. After the analysis of the data found, we evidenced that the causes of evasion and permanence in the professionalizing technical courses of CAVN consist of: family distance; lack of motivation; not identifying with the course.

La metodología de este estudio es cualitativa y se basó en el instrumento de la entrevista semiestructurada. Tras el análisis de los datos encontrados, evidenciamos que las causas de evasión y permanencia en los cursos técnicos profesionales del CAVN, consisten en: distancia familiar; falta de motivación; no identificarse con el curso.O objetivo deste artigo foi de analisar as causas da permanência e da evasão de educandos(as) dos cursos técnicos profissionalizantes ofertados pelo Colégio Agrícola Vidal de Negreiros (CAVN), localizado no Centro de Ciências Humanas, Sociais e Agrárias, campus III da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. Quanto à metodologia, trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa, cujo instrumento utilizado foi a entrevista semiestruturada.
