Abandonment in the statistics course of the Federal University of Goiás: when do students drop out?

Resumo: | The aim of this study is to analyze when the students who joined the bachelor's degree in Statistics from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) graduated from 2009 to 2012. For this purpose, documentary research is carried out, in consultation with documents of the Ministry of Education, and, in particular, data from the Brazilian Higher Education Census, published by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira, in the period from 2009 to 2017. In addition, the study is anchored in bibliographic research, based on authors who discuss mainly the themes of evasion and stay in higher education. As a result, this study shows that: the highest absolute evasion of the course takes place in the first year, and the highest chance of evasion is from the fourth to the fifth year of the course; few can form; of those who form, most take more than the regular period, which is nine semesters; and the percentage of those who transfer to other courses at the same university is significant. |

El objetivo de este estudio es analizar cuándo los estudiantes que se incorporaron al bachillerato en Estadística de la Universidad Federal de Goiás (UFG) se graduaron de 2009 a 2012. Para ello, se llevan a cabo investigaciones documentales, en consulta con documentos del Ministerio de Educación, y, en particular, datos del Censo Brasileño de Educación Superior, publicados por el Instituto Nacional de Estudios Educativos e Investigación Anísio Teixeira, en el período de 2009 a 2017. Además, el estudio está anclado en la investigación bibliográfica, basada en autores que discuten principalmente los temas de evasión y quedarse en la educación superior. Como resultado, este estudio muestra que: la mayor evasión absoluta del curso tiene lugar en el primer año, y la mayor probabilidad de evasión es del cuarto al quinto año del curso; pocos pueden formarse; de los que se forman, la mayoría toma más que el período regular, que es nueve semestres; y el porcentaje de los que se transfieren a otros cursos en la misma universidad es significativo.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar quando ocorre a desistência dos alunos que ingressaram no curso de bacharelado em Estatística da Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG) no período de 2009 a 2012. Para tanto, é feita pesquisa documental, em consulta a documentos do Ministério da Educação, e, particularmente, a dados do Censo da Educação Superior Brasileira, divulgados pelo Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira, no período de 2009 a 2017. Além disso, o estudo está ancorado em pesquisa bibliográfica, fundamentada em autores que discutem principalmente os temas da evasão e permanência na educação superior.
