Old demands, new times: analysis of Special Education in Goiás and Tocantins

Resumo: After decades of discussions and legislation regarding Special Education, the demands remain urgent and daily. This study, qualitative and documental analysis, interprets how Special Education has been understood in federal and state legislation, from Goiás and Tocantins, stressing the challenges brought by the pandemic. After inductive analysis of the data, the results indicate that the Base Nacional Comum Curricular approaches the theme of inclusion in a fragile way and, in the state documents, an alignment of its goals with the Plano Nacional de Educação is noted, although adaptations are still needed to the existing social demands, previous or that emerged during the pandemic.

Este estudio, de análisis cualitativo y documental, interpreta cómo la Educación Especial ha sido entendida en la legislación federal y estadual, de Goiás y Tocantins, destacando los desafíos traídos por la pandemia. Luego análisis inductivo de los dados, los resultados indican que la Base Nacional Comum Curricular aborda el tema de la inclusión de manera frágil y, en los documentos de estado, se advierte un alineamiento de sus metas con el Plano Nacional de Educação, aunque sus estrategias aún necesitan ser adaptadas a las mismas.Após décadas de discussões e legislações a respeito da Educação Especial no país, as demandas continuam urgentes e diárias. Este estudo – qualitativo e de análise documental – interpreta como a Educação Especial tem sido entendida nas legislações federal e estadual, de Goiás e Tocantins, tensionando os desafios trazidos pela pandemia.
