Summary: In this text, the result of ethnographic observations, I present the Juruna myth about the Moon, in Portuguese and in the indigenous language, the symbolism of the Moon for this culture, with its rituals and importance in daily life, making a brief comparison with other people, in which a relationship between Sun and Moon is observed. However, for the Juruna, this relationship would not exist. The Sun, kuadï, has its myth completely disconnected from the myth of the Moon, madïka, as will be discussed. The phases of the Moon are presented, with their differences of characterization from ours. An interpretation by analytical psychology is tried at the end.
