Resumo: The transgender population is historically made vulnerable and contests for their conception of identity. This study is based on the objective and subjective conditions, in addition to the narratives of the trans people, in relation to their transsexualization processes. The contradictions in this dispute are exposed, since the services offered by public policies, advance in the recognition of identity, but reinforce stigmas. Therefore, it is an ethical parameter to affirm the autonomy of the bodies and the non-exotization of research related to trans and transvestite experiences. This work aims to bring the social, political and historical aspects regarding sexuality and gender through the services of the Center for Combating Homophobia of the Secretariat of Human Rights of Pernambuco.

Este estudo parte das condições objetivas, subjetivas e das narrativas das pessoas trans, frente aos seus processos de transexualização. São expostas as contradições correntes nesta disputa, uma vez que os serviços ofertados pela via das políticas públicas, tanto avançam no reconhecimento identitário, quanto reforçam estigmas. Por isso, é parâmetro ético o reconhecimento irrestrito da autonomia dos corpos e a não exotização das pesquisas voltadas às vivências trans e travesti.
