Popular education around a political platform – the impact of social movements networking for youth rights

Resumo: The article aimed to discuss the scope of educational activities of collaborative networking in social movements for the rights of youth, through the analysis of popular education activities around the Political Platform created by the Forum of Youths of Greater Belo Horizonte in 2014. The work was developed through the analysis of several documents produced by the Youth Forum, as well as participant observation in the group's activities. The analysis showed that, although the network proposal presupposes horizontality, a mobilizing center is fundamental. Furthermore, there will not necessarily be a dichotomy between grassroots training and social control. Such initiatives are even more necessary in the current Brazilian political context.

O trabalho foi desenvolvido por meio da análise de diversos documentos produzidos pelo Fórum das Juventudes, bem como por observação participante nas atividades do grupo. A análise evidenciou que, embora a proposta de rede pressuponha uma horizontalidade, um centro mobilizador é fundamental. Além disso, não necessariamente haverá uma dicotomia entre formação de base e controle social.
