Resumo: Hydrological modeling, using softwares such as the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM), has become a prominent tool to predict events in basins, helping to reduce human losses in disasters and avoid ineffective spending on works. This article aimed to present and discuss the application of the SWMM model to a case study of rainwater management for an allotment project with about 36 ha, in the neighborhood of Guaratiba/RJ. The preliminary design of a drainage network for the region was modeled by simulating an intense rainfall with a return period of 10 years and duration of 10 minutes. It was sought to integrate and compare the critical results found to the possible improvements resulting from the use of Low Impact Development (LID) techniques related to permeable pavements in the modeling. For the same return time, there was a decrease in peak flows of up to 34,53%, in addition to decreases in total volumes in the system of up to 28.73% for return times of 10, 20 and 50 years, demonstrating that the adoption use of LIDs in drainage projects generally permeates stages of softer floods.

Este artículo tuvo como objetivo presentar y discutir la aplicación del modelo SWMM a un estudio de caso de gestión de aguas pluviales para un proyecto de adjudicación de cerca de 36 ha, en el barrio de Guaratiba/RJ. Se modeló el diseño preliminar de una red de drenaje para la región mediante la simulación de una lluvia intensa con período de retorno de 10 años y duración de 10 minutos. Luego, se intentó integrar y comparar los resultados críticos encontrados con las posibles mejoras resultantes del uso de técnicas de Desarrollo de Bajo Impacto (LID) relacionadas con pavimentos permeables en el modelado. Para el mismo tiempo de retorno, hubo una disminución de caudales punta de hasta un 34,53%, además de reducciones en los volúmenes totales del sistema de hasta un 28,73% para tiempos de retorno de 10, 20 y 50 años, demostrando que la adopción de LID en proyectos de drenaje en general permea etapas de crecidas más suaves.A modelagem hidrológica, empregando-se softwares como o Storm Water Management Model (SWMM), tornou-se uma ferramenta de destaque para predizer eventos em bacias, contribuindo para reduzir perdas humanas em desastres e evitar gastos ineficazes em obras. Este artigo objetivou apresentar e discutir a aplicação do modelo SWMM a um estudo de caso de gestão de águas pluviais para um projeto de loteamento com cerca de 36 ha, no bairro de Guaratiba/RJ. Modelou-se o anteprojeto de uma rede de drenagem para a região simulando-se uma chuva intensa com tempo de retorno de 10 anos e duração de 10 minutos. Buscou-se então integrar e comparar os resultados críticos encontrados às possíveis melhorias provenientes do emprego de técnicas de Desenvolvimento de Baixo Impacto (Low Impact Development - LID) relativas a pavimentos permeáveis na modelagem.
