Primeiramente, realizou-se uma análise das transformações pelas quais o Museu passou ao longo do tempo, a fim de compreender como a sociedade passou a ocupar um papel norteador das ações de tais instituições. Em seguida, procurou-se apresentar e analisar a metodologia de design thinking proposta pelo Instituto Hasso Platner de Design da Universidade de Stanford (d.school), pelo fato de sua aplicação em museus e instituições afins. E ainda, buscou-se analisar algumas experiências relacionadas à área dos museus com o design thinking, de modo a identificar como esse processo tem contribuído para a prática museal nesses espaços. A metodologia utilizada consistiu em análise e levantamento de bibliografias pertinentes ao tema de pesquisa, e de estudos de caso de museus e profissionais que adotaram o design thinking em sua prática, valendo-se também da aplicação de questionários. Com base nos dados apresentados e nas análises feitas, tem-se que o design thinking, por ser um processo para a inovação centrado no ser humano, mostra-se como uma alternativa para o desenvolvimento de uma prática museal mais consciente, colaborativa e humana. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe present study aims to elucidate the possible contributions of design thinking to the museum practice. First was held an analysis of the transformations that the Museum has gone over time, in order to understand how society has come to occupy a guiding role in the actions of these institutions. After that, it intended to present and analyze the design thinking methodology proposed by the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University (d.school), because of its aplication in museums. Further, it sought to analyze some design thinking experiences related to the museum's field in order to identify how this process has contributed to the museum practice in these places. The methodology consisted in analysis and surveys of bibliographies, relevant to the topic of research, and case studies of museums and professionals who have embraced design thinking into their practice, also making the use of questionnaires.
