Para tal, foram utilizadas as obras Origens do Totalitarismo e Démocratie et Totalitarisme, que constituem os principais trabalhos dos respectivos autores no que diz respeito aos temas de democracia e totalitarismo. O confronto de ideias entre Arendt e Aron foi alicerçado na análise e interpretação de seus principais críticos, ainda que a comparação direta entre os dois autores seja particularmente escassa na literatura. To that end, we used the works Origins of Totalitarianism and Democracy and Totalitarianism, which constitutes the main works of the respective authors in what relates to the themes of democracy and totalitarianism. The confrontation of ideas between Arendt and Aron was based on the analysis and interpretation of their main critics, although the direct comparison between both authors is relatively scarce in the literature. Thus, in delineating the main points of convergence and divergence between the authors, we aim to fill part of this gap.Le présent travail a comme objectif d’analyser, comparativement, les concepts de démocratie et totalitarisme dans les oeuvres de Hannah Arendt et Raymond Aron, en vue d’établir les éléments qui caractérisent les régimes nazi et communiste du début du 20ème siècle. Pour cela, nous avons utilisé les oeuvres Les Origines du Totalitarisme et Démocratie et Totalitarisme, qui constituent les principaux travaux des respectifs auteurs en ce qui concerne les thèmes de démocratie et de totalitarisme. La confrontation des idées entre Arendt et Aron a été fondée sur l’analyse et interprétation de ses principaux critiques, bien que sur la comparaison directe entre les deux auteurs, quoiqu’elle soit particulièrement rare dans la litérature.
