Como a porta do veículo dianteira está próxima do passageiro ou condutor, a colisão lateral se torna um dos acidentes mais fatais à vítima. No Brasil, o projeto de lei PLS 307/2008 traz a obrigatoriedade das barras de proteção lateral. Então, o trabalho propõe o uso do Dispositivo de Segurança Estrutural no interior da porta dos veículos populares de chassi monobloco. O dispositivo tem por finalidade assegurar a integridade do passageiro, de forma que o dispositivo absorva a energia do impacto. A garantia do uso correto da ferramenta numérica foi buscada por meio da compreensão de resultados provenientes de exemplos simples retirados da bibliografia. Resultados analíticos e computacionais foram comparados fazendo-se uso do ANSYS Mechanical para dinâmica implícita e do ANSYS LS-DYNA para dinâmica explícita. Os resultados apresentaram uma boa aproximação entre si encorajando o desenvolvimento deste trabalho. Em seguida, foram feitos sete análises variando a geometria, material e espessura do dispositivo estrutural. Essas análises seguiram as condições dos trabalhos da bibliografia que seguem a norma FMVSS 214 que regulamenta "crash test"lateral em veículos no ensaio de colisão com poste rígido. Because the front passenger door is close to the passenger or driver, the side impact becomes one of the most fatal accidents to the victim. In Brazil, bill PLS 307/2008 brings the obligation of lateral protection bars. So, the work proposes the use of the Structural Safety Device inside the door of the popular vehicles of monoblock chassis. The device is intended to ensure the integrity of the passenger, so that the device absorbs the energy of the impact. The guarantee of correct use of the numerical tool was sought through the validation of results from simple examples taken from the bibliography. Analytical and computational results were compared using ANSYS textit Mechanical for implicit dynamics and ANSYS textit LS-DYNA for explicit dynamics. The results presented a good approximation between them, encouraging the development of this work. Then, nine analyzes were made varying the geometry, material and thickness of the structural device. These analyzes followed the conditions of the bibliographical works that follow the standard FMVSS 214 that regulates lateral crash test in vehicles in the collision test with rigid pole.
