O objetivo desta monografia é investigar as razões de ser do crime de infanticídio tal qual inscrito na legislação brasileira, sob uma perspectiva de gênero e ideais de maternidade, analisando como se manifestam os saberes médico e jurídico em relação ao estado puerperal, elemento próprio deste tipo penal, e se há uma apropriação de discursos alegadamente técnicos para criminalizar supostos desvios de uma imagem do que seria um ideal feminino de maternidade. The purpose of this monograph is to investigate the reasons that justify the crime of infanticide as inscribed in the Brazilian legislation, from a perspective of gender and ideas of maternity, analyzing how the medical and juridical knowledge manifest themselves about the puerperal state and whether there is an appropriation of allegedly technical speeches to criminalize supposed deviations from an image of what would be a feminine ideal of motherhood.
