Os objetivos específicos estão baseados em identificar o aspecto motivacional inicial e continuado para aprender um instrumento musical, identificar a trajetória da aprendizagem formal e informal, compreender como a participação em banda(s) contribuiu para o desenvolvimento musical dos integrantes e conhecer a progressão do desenvolvimento técnico no instrumento. A partir da revisão bibliográfica e de experiências como plateia e músico durante o curso de Licenciatura em Música da Universidade de Brasília - UnB, foi possível compreender como os músicos da banda Scalene aprenderam e continuam aprendendo música, bem como sobre os recursos utilizados para tal. Espera-se que esse trabalho possa auxiliar na reflexão de professores acerca de como seus alunos podem aprender música e utilizar conhecimentos para tocarem em bandas ou grupos sem necessariamente estarem em contato apenas com a educação musical formal. This rock band was formed in the autonomous scene of Distrito Federal Rock. The specific objectives are based on identifying the first and continuous motivational aspect to learn a musical instrument, the formal and informal learning trajectory as well as its specificities, understand how playing on a band contributed to the members’ musical development and know the progression of technical development in some instrument. Through the bibliographic review and the experiences as an audience and musician throughout the Music Major’s undergraduate course in UnB, it was possible to understand how Scalene’s band musicians learned (and still learning) how to play music, as well as about the used tools. This thesis may aid teachers in their own reflexion about how students can learn music and use their knowledge to play in musical groups without being necessarily in contact with formal music education only.
