Resumo: This is a comparative study of Internationalization Policies (IP) in two Brazilian public universities: the University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) and the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). The analysis was conducted using Ball's policy cycle. Regarding UNILA, strategies for regional integration based on South-South Cooperation (SSC) were identified. On the other hand, UFABC demonstrated a focus on capital regulation and control to meet the requirements of the global context. Despite their distinct perspectives, both policies indicated strategies for Internationalizing Higher (IH) education in the global south.

El análisis se realizó utilizando el ciclo de políticas de Ball. En lo que respecta a la UNILA, se observaron estrategias para la integración regional solidaria, caracterizadas por la Cooperación Sur-Sur (CSS). En el caso de la UFABC, se evidenció una regulación de capital y control para alcanzar los niveles requeridos por el escenario mundial. Aunque las políticas presentaron perspectivas diferentes, ambas indicaron estrategias de internacionalización de la Educación Superior (ES) para el sur global.Trata-se de um estudo comparado de políticas de internacionalização de duas universidades públicas brasileiras: Universidade da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA) e Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC). A análise ocorreu por meio do ciclo de políticas de Ball. Ao que tangencia a UNILA, percebeu-se estratégias para a integração regional solidária, marcada pela Cooperação Sul-Sul (CSS). Já para a UFABC, evidenciou-se regulação de capital e controle para atingir os patamares exigidos pelo cenário mundial.
