Resumo: | This study addresses with the schooling of black people in the province of Pará at the end of the nineteenth century. For the development of this research, was used the bibliographic and documentary methodology. Starting of the analyzes realized is possible to conclude that the paraense education given to black people was excluding and that the government's actions in relation to schooling were marked by a minimal performance in the area of school insertion. However, it was possible to identify the presence of black people in the initiatives of private institutions. Such initiatives were discontinuous, which evidenced the absence of black people school inclusion. |

Para el desarrollo de esta investigación, utilizamos metodología de naturaleza bibliográfica y documental. A partir de los análisis realizados, podemos concluir que la educación paraense para los negros era excluyente y que las acciones del Gobierno en relación con la escolarización estaban caracterizadas por una mínima intervención en el tema inserción escolar. Sin embargo, fue posible identificar la presencia de negros en las iniciativas de instituciones particulares. Tales iniciativas eran discontinuas, lo que puso en evidencia la ausencia de la inserción escolar de los negros.O presente trabalho trata da escolarização do negro na província do Pará no final do século XIX. Para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa, utilizamos a metodologia de natureza bibliográfica e documental. A partir das análises realizadas, podemos concluir que a educação paraense aos negros era excludente e que as ações do Governo em relação à escolarização foram marcadas por uma mínima atuação no quesito inserção escolar. No entanto, foi possível identificar a presença de negros nas iniciativas de instituições particulares.
