Political socialization and resocialization among former metalworkers in the ABC Paulista

Resumo: In this article we address educational processes related to politics, namely, processes of socialization and political resocialization experienced by workers living in a popular neighborhood, who were part of the metallurgical sector in ABC Paulista during the political and union movement of the "Great strikes". We are interested in understanding the impacts that the experience and the different levels of adhesion and participation in this movement exerted (and still do) on the learning, the understanding and the political participation of these workers throughout their lives. To this end, we analyze the biographies of two former metalworkers, residents of the neighborhood and who experienced the movement in question.

Nos interesa comprender los impactos que la experiencia y los diferentes niveles de adhesión y participación a este movimiento ejercieron (y siguen haciéndolo) en el aprendizaje, la comprensión y la participación política de estos trabajadores a lo largo de su vida. Para ello, analizamos las biografías de dos antiguos trabajadores del metal, residentes en el barrio y que vivieron el movimiento en cuestión.Neste artigo abordamos processos educativos relacionados a política, nomeadamente, processos de socialização e ressocialização política vivenciados por trabalhadores moradores de um bairro popular, que fizeram parte do setor metalúrgico no ABC Paulista durante o movimento político e sindical das “Grandes greves”. Interessa-nos compreender os impactos que a vivência e os diferentes níveis de adesão e participação a este movimento exerceram (e ainda exercem) sobre o aprendizado, a compreensão e a participação política desses trabalhadores ao longo de suas vidas.
