Resumo: Born from the confluence of psychology and anthropology,the psychology of culture has been demanding its recognition asa relatively autonomous area. As it incorporates the so-called historicalpsychology, the psychology of culture studies specifically the modalitiesof construction of the person in different cultures and periods of time. Thepsychology of culture introduces the perspective of cultural relativityinto psychology, and includes a critical revision of various theoreticalassumptions.
