Resumo: This paper reviews the present studies in the literature concerning the Active Minorities Theory (AMT), bySerge Moscovici, arranging them in a theoretical framework. Considering its historical-analytic context, the AMT is locatedin the social influence field. The functionalistic and genetic models which are in the basis of theoretical interpretations areanalysed. The establishment of AMT is focused in terms of its premises, explainable categories, research field and development.

Para a contextualização histórico-analítica, situa a TMA na área da influência social, procedendo a uma análise sobre os modelos funcionalista e genético que estão na base das interpretações teóricas.
