Resumo: | This research explores the poetry chest in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) that has been a part of the history of the Brazilian deaf community. We use the chest as an image that alludes to a collection of treasures and antiques. In this framework, the sign-language poems reference the richness of the hearing-impaired community. The research question that guides this essay is how is sign language used in poems and which are its preferred themes? In other words, what do the poems say and how? Using these questions, the objective is to analyze the use of sign language and the privileged themes in selected poems. The methodology used for the development of the research is qualitative analysis. The essay considers the use of sign language by the hearing-impaired in sign-language poems. For this, we analyze two poems recorded on videos, with subsequent translation from Libras to Portuguese, in order to facilitate the description and analysis of the material and the register recurrences found in the poems. The essay shows that the poems analyzed relate to important themes in the deaf community, such as the training of the deaf (in “O balé das mãos” [The Hands Ballet]) and Libras interpreters (in “Dia dos intérpretes” [Interpreters’ Day]) and linguistically highlight forms of artistic production in sign language. |

Utilizamos la imagen de un baúl como forma de traer los poemas y seleccionar las preciosidades y antigüedades que son guardadas en un baúl, relacionando los poemas señalados con la idea de riqueza de esa comunidad. El problema de investigación que acompañó el desarrollo del proceso fue el siguiente: ¿de qué modo la lengua de señas es utilizada en los poemas y cuáles son los temas más frecuentemente privilegiados? En otras palabras, ¿qué dicen los poemas y cómo lo dicen? A partir de esos cuestionamientos, el objetivo fue analizar el uso de la lengua de señas y las temáticas privilegiadas en los poemas seleccionados. La metodología utilizada para el desarrollo de la pesquisa se constituyó en un análisis cualitativo, considerando el uso de la lengua de señas por sordos en los poemas señalados. Para eso, fueron analizados dos poemas registrados en videos, con posterior traducción de Libras para el portugués, con el objetivo de viabilizar la descripción y análisis del material y registrar recurrencias encontradas. Como resultado, señalamos que los poemas analizados tienen relación con temas de la comunidad sorda tales como la formación de sordos (“El ballet de las manos”), y de intérpretes de Libras (“Día de los intérpretes”) y lingüísticamente destacan las formas de producción artística en lengua de señas.O presente artigo apresenta uma pesquisa que buscou explorar um baú de poemas em língua brasileira de sinais (Libras) que fizeram e fazem parte da história da comunidade surda brasileira. Utilizamos a imagem de um baú como forma de trazer os poemas e selecionar as preciosidades e antiguidades que são guardadas no baú, relacionando os poemas sinalizados com a ideia de riquezas dessa comunidade. O problema de pesquisa que acompanhou o desenvolvimento da investigação foi: de que modo a língua de sinais é utilizada em poemas e quais os temas mais frequentes? Em outras palavras, o que dizem os poemas e de que modo? A partir desses questionamentos, o objetivo foi analisar o uso da língua de sinais e as temáticas privilegiadas nos poemas selecionados. A metodologia utilizada para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa consistiu em uma análise qualitativa, considerando a utilização da bricolagem em pesquisas na área da educação, com ênfase no uso da língua de sinais por surdos em poemas sinalizados. Para isso, foram analisados dois poemas registrados em vídeos, com posterior tradução de Libras para o português, a fim de viabilizar a descrição e análise do material e registrar recorrências encontradas.
