Resumo: This article analyses the Fordist model of development crisis and the effects of this crisis on employment and unemployment. It also shows the effects of flexibilization of the labour market in the USA and England. Finally it discusses the relation between work and citizenship construction in Brazil and it points out the problems of neoliberal politics regarding this issue.
