Resumo: | The essay raises the questions of the Baroque and the Neo-baroque, as situated within the discussion of the postmodernism as a defy to any essential notion of meaning. In reference to Omar Calabrese and Severo Sarduy it is asked whether the Baroque, as a metaphor or heuristic figure, is capable to detect specific topics of a postmodern culture as an aesthetic representation of an inherent epistemological instability. Following, an independent analysis of the novel of Raduan Nassar, Lavoura Arcaica, in which the Baroque is seen less in terms of a comparison with the historical baroque literature and more as a figurative characteristic in the narrative organisation of the text. The analysis shows how the narative is converted into a scene of the ambiguous in which a unique meaning is sacrificed in the bifurcation of readings that interdicts the hermeneutic satisfaction in recognising a hidden meaning. On the contrary, it forms a genuine clair/obscure in which the expressive level is not any more an access to real meaning but a dissemination of the possibilities to resolve the secrets of the text. Finally, it shows how the novel is inscribed in the baroque scepticism towards the romantic-modem subjectivity. It deconstructs the psychological intimacy of the narrator and reveals the discourse as profoundly unrealiable. |

It deconstructs the psychological intimacy of the narrator and reveals the discourse as profoundly unrealiable.L’article O cenário do ambíguo aborde la question du Barroque et du Néobarroque et sa place à l’intèrieur du discours sur la postmodernité comme un défi à la notion essentialiste du sens.A partir d’Omar Calabrese et Severo Sarduy, il est permis de se demander si le Barroque entendu comme métaphore ou figure heuristique, peut parvenir à mettre en valeur les traits de la culture postmodeme comme représentation d’une instabilité épistémologique sous-jacente.Ensuite, une analyse indépendente du roman de Raduan Nassar, Lavoura Arcaica. Ici le Barroque ne s’assimile plus à la littérature du barroque historique mais se distingue plutôt sous un trait figuratif dans 1’organisation narrative du texte qui met en question le contenu thématique du discours.L’analyse met en valeur la transformation de la narration dans un cenário do ambíguo. Dans celui-ci, le sens unique se voit sacrifié dans une bifurcation de lectures qui empêche toute satisfaction herméneutique de reconnaTtre un sens caché. Tout au contraire, ce décor forme un véritable clair/obscur dans lequel le texte explicite recouvre l’implicite. Le niveau expressif ne s’offre plus comme une clef au sens véritable mais comme la dissémination de la possibilité même de dévoiler les secrets du texte. L’accent est finalement mis sur la manière dont le roman s’inscrit dans le scepticisme barroque face à la subjectivité romantico-modeme et sur la manière dont il démolit 1’intimité psychologique du narrateur et révèle le profond manque de fiabilité de son discoursO artigo discute a questão do Barroco e do Neobarroco situando-a dentro do debate sobre a pós- modemidade como um desafio à noção essencialista do sentido. A partir de Omar Calabrese e de Severo Sarduy se questiona se o barroco, como metáfora ou figura heurística, consegue ressaltar traços específicos da cultura pós-modema como representação estética de uma instabilidade epistemológica subjacente. Em seguida, uma análise independente do romance de Raduan Nassar, Lavoura Arcaica, em que o barroco é situado menos em termos de semelhança com a literatura do Barroco histórico e mais como um traço figurativo na organização narrativa do texto que problematiza o conteúdo temático do discurso. A narrativa converte-se num cenário do ambíguo no qual o sentido único e sacrificado na bifurcação de leituras impede a satisfação hermenêutica de reconhecer um sentido escondido. Ao contrário, forma um genuíno claro/escuro em que o explícito textual dobra- se sobre o implícito, e em que o nível expressivo não se oferece mais como um acesso ao sentido verdadeiro mas como a disseminação da própria possibilidade de desvendar os segredos do texto.
