Resumo: This article intends to initiate a discussion on the adequacy of collective action in the information era. It begins with a synthesis of the main theories on social movements in this century in order to situate the present debate over the state of the art in this matter. It then proposes an analysis of social movements based on the category of networks, which includes the following dimensions: of sociability, that is, of primary social networks and political articulations; of spatiality, which contemplates local-global connections through technical networks; of historical temporalities, referring to articulations between the new idearies and the cultural tradition and its meanings in the transformation.

Eusuite il y a tine nalyse des mouvements sociaux à partir de la catégorie des “réseaux”, dans laquelle ilprivilégie les dimensions suivantes: sociabilité (réseaux sociaux primaires et leurs articulations locales/globales), à trovers les réseaux techniques; les temporalités historiques au sujet des articulations entre les nouveaux idéal et la tradition culturelie et leur contribuition en terme de transformation.O presente artigo pretende abrir o debate em tomo da adequação dos estudos das ações coletivas na era da informação. Inicia realizando uma sintese dos principais mapeamentos das teorias dos movimentos sociais neste século, a fim de situar o presente debate em relação ao estado da arte nesta área temática.
