THE TRINITY FORMULA AND THE MODERNIZATION OF AGRICULTURE IN BRAZIL: AN INTERPRETATION

Resumo: The aim of this article is to understand the ties between agriculture andcapitalism established with new relations between agriculture and industry, aswell as the forms of insertion of small agricultural production within those relations,signifyng the process of agricultural modernization itself. This comprehensionis sought through the analysis of relations among the three agents of modernization:the State, the different types of capitalists and the labour force, includingthat constituted by family members, taking as its methodological instrumentthe Trinity Formula developped by Marx to analyse social classes in thecapitalist mode of production.

Dans cebut, 1’analyse considère les rapports qu'établissent entre eux trois agents de Iamodernization agricole: I’Etat, les différents types de capitalistes et la force detravail, y compris celle constituée par le travail familial, prennant comme instrumentméthodologique la Formule Trinitaire développée par Marx pour analyserles classes sociales dans le mode de production capitaliste.O objetivo deste artigo é a compreensão tanto das vinculações que se estabelecem entre agricultura e capitalismo a partir das novas relações agricultura/ indústria, quanto das formas de inserção da pequena produção familiar nestas relações que significaram, também, o próprio processo de modernização da agricultura.
