Este trabalho foi pensado como uma contribuição ao conhecimento da língua Manxineru e foi desenvolvido em uma perspectiva fonética articulatória, observando detalhes da articulação dos sons no “aparelho fonador”, para o que foram fundamentais referências como Pike (1971), Ladefoged e Maddieson (1993), entre outros; e em uma perspectiva fonológica, considerando princípios de análise fonêmica, tem como orientação fundamental a distribuição dos sons em sequências sonoras mais largas, tais quais sílabas e palavras. Consideramos também o princípio de que os sons são modificáveis pelo ambiente e que esses sons são fonemicamente distintos se provado que não são simplesmente modificações causadas pelo ambiente em que ocorrem (TRUBETZKOY, [1939] 1976, PIKE, [1947] 1971). Com base em dados de mais 1550 palavras e várias sentenças, descrevemos 20 fones consontais e 44 fones vocálicos para o Manxineru; descrevemos também 16 fonemas consonantais e 5 vocálicos. Analisamos e descrevemos a propagação de nasalidade, vozeamento, dessoantização e redução vocálica, com base na teoria autossegmental e com suporte teórico e técnico de dados acústicos. Na análise acústica dos sons foram referências principais Ladefoged e Maddieson (1993), Ladefoged (2001, 2003). Os trabalhos descritivos sobre a fonética e fonologia das variedades Yine, que serviram de referências principais para a presente dissertação, foram Matteson (1965) e Hanson (2010). Amparados por princípios, procedimentos e instrumentos da fonética acústica, descrevemos o padrão silábico canônico (C)V(C) para o Manxineru e não CCV ou só CV, como postulados em outras obras sobre a variedade Manxineuru e variedade Piro. A presente dissertação possui não só uma finalidade científica, mas também aplicada ao ensino da língua Manxineru na formação de professores dessa língua, tanto do magistério, quanto dos cursos interculturais indígenas. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTIn this dissertation I present an analysis describing aspects of the phonetics and phonology of the Manxineu language, a variant of Yine (Aruák family), spoken in the southwest of the Acre state (Brazil) by a population of some 1000 individuals. This work has been conceived as a contribution to the knowledge of the Manxineru language and has been developed into an articulatory perspective, observing details of sound articulations (cf. PIKE, 1971, LADEFOGED & MADDIESON, 1993, among others), and also under a phonological perspective, considering principles of phonemic analysis such as the one which takes as fundamental the distribution of sounds into more large sequences such as syllables and words, but also considering the principle under which sounds are modified by the environment, and that they are phonemically distinct if proved that they are not simply modifications resulting from the environment in which they occur (TRUBETZKOY, [1939] 1976; PIKE, [1947] 1971). Based on data from over 1550 different words and sentences, we have described 20 consontal phones and 44 vowel phones for Manxineru; we have also described 16 consonants and 5 vowel phonemes for that language. We have described and analyzed the spread of nasality, voicing, dessoantização and vowel reduction based on the autosegmental theory with theoretical and technical support from acoustic data. The acoustic analysis has been benefited by the woks of Ladefoged and Maddieson (1993), and Ladefoged (2001, 2003). The descriptive studies about phonetics and phonology of the Yine languages that served as reference for the present dissertation are Matteson (1965) and Hanson (2010). Supported by principles, procedures and instruments of acoustic phonetics, we have described the canonical (C)V(C) syllabic pattern for Manxineru and not just CV or CCV, as postulated in other works on the range and variety Manxineuru Piro.
