Distribuída em um território de mais de 250.000 hectares, é formada por descendentes de africanos escravizados, fugitivos das minas e garimpos de ouro, dos estados de Minas Gerais e Goiás nos séculos XVIII e XIX. Após permanecer às margens do sistema produtivo local até o final do século XX, a comunidade passa a ter interlocução com o estado nacional, a partir da promulgação da constituição de 1988, onde o poder público é instado a promover a titulação das terras das comunidades remanescentes de quilombos. Isso fez com que órgãos dos governos federal, estadual e municipal, além de concessionárias de serviços públicos, iniciassem a implementação de ações voltadas para a melhoria da infra-estrutura habitacional da comunidade. Desenvolvo nesse trabalho uma linha de pesquisa sobre o processo de implantação de infra-estrutura habitacional em comunidades tradicionais, tendo como enfoque a comunidade Kalunga. Para tanto, levanto os dados existentes referentes ao território, à tipologia habitacional e à sua infra-estrutura. Aponto para o fato de que a comunidade possui uma forma característica de habitar e interagir com os espaços que compõe seu território, que certamente teve um papel relevante na sua sobrevivência, e na manutenção de seus fazeres culturais. Apresento exemplos de projetos governamentais desenvolvidos para a implementação de infra-estrutura física nas habitações da comunidade. Sustento que toda implantação de projetos referentes a este tipo de infra-estrutura, em comunidades tradicionais negras, deve considerar as suas dimensões étnicas, suas manifestações sócioculturais e referências espaciais tradicionais. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe remaining community of the Kalunga quilombo, which is located in the midwest of the state of Goiás in Brazil, has an estimated population of approximately 4000 inhabitants who are distributed throughout an area of over 250000 hectares. The ‘Kalungas’ are descendents of African slaves who were fugitives from gold mines in Minas Gerais during the 18th and 19th centuries. After having remained on the fringes of the local production system until the end of the 20th century, the community was able to begin a dialogue with the Federal Government due to the establishment of the constitution of 1988 in which public power is claimed to promote the entitlement of lands occupied by the remaining communities of ‘quilombos’. This made the federal, state and local governments, along with public works concessionaries, initiate the implementation of actions revolving around bettering the habitat ional infrastructure in the community. In this project, I carried out research of the process of the implementation of the habitat ional infrastructure in these traditional black communities, bringing into focus the Kalungas.. I collected existing data on land, habitation typology and its infrastructure. I point out the fact that the community has a characteristic way of inhabiting and interacting with the space within its territory which has certainly played a relevant role in their survival and in maintaining their cultural duties. I present examples of governmental projects aimed at the habitational infrastructure establishment in the community.
