Resumo: Dialoguing the 2017 Agricultural Census data with historical and social aspects, this work analyzes black rural producers in southern Brazil. Covering the 23 mesoregions of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, the research aims to highlight information that enables the analysis of agricultural establishments considering a variable little explored in rural studies: race. The erasure of the black presence in the rural south of Brazil is the result of the construction of a colonial imaginary that is still present and does not contribute to the reduction of existing inequalities, especially in family farming. The history and conventional debates about agriculture in the Southern Region are governed by a mostly white vision that does not present rural development alternatives for the recognition and productive inclusion of blacks. Despite land tenure inequality, it is necessary to reflect on the construction of public policies aimed at supporting these rural producers. Keywords: Agricultural Census. Family Farming. Race.

Abarcando las 23 mesorregiones de Paraná, Santa Catarina y Rio Grande do Sul, la investigación tiene como objetivo resaltar información que permita el análisis de los establecimientos agrícolas considerando una variable poco explorada en los estudios rurales: la raza. El borrado de la presencia negra en el sur rural de Brasil es resultado de la construcción de un imaginario colonial que aún está presente y no contribuye a la reducción de las desigualdades existentes, especialmente en la agricultura familiar. La historia y los debates convencionales sobre la agricultura en la Región Sur están regidos por una visión mayoritariamente blanca que no presenta alternativas de desarrollo rural para el reconocimiento e inclusión productiva de los negros. A pesar de la desigualdad en la tenencia de la tierra, es necesario reflexionar sobre la construcción de políticas públicas orientadas a apoyar a estos productores rurales. Raza.Dialogando os dados do Censo Agropecuário de 2017 com aspectos históricos e sociais, esse trabalho faz uma análise dos produtores rurais negros na Região Sul do Brasil. Abrangendo as 23 mesorregiões de Paraná, Santa Catarina e Rio Grande do Sul, a pesquisa deseja destacar informações que possibilitem a análise dos estabelecimentos agropecuários considerando uma variável pouco explorada nos estudos rurais: a raça. O apagamento da presença negra no meio rural sul-brasileiro é fruto da construção de um imaginário colonial que ainda se faz presente e não colabora para a redução das desigualdades existentes, principalmente, na agricultura familiar. A história e os debates convencionais sobre agricultura na Região Sul são regidos por uma visão majoritariamente branca que não apresenta alternativas de desenvolvimento rural para o reconhecimento e inclusão produtiva dos negros. Apesar da desigualdade fundiária, é preciso refletir sobre a construção de políticas públicas voltadas para o suporte desses produtores rurais. Palavras-chave: Censo Agropecuário.
