Resumo: The article aims to discuss the central problems that contemporary education faces in relation to the formative processes, such as: the profile of the graduatesof the courses in relation to the needs and demands of society, the urgency of an interdisciplinary knowledge and the ethical and social responsibility. The methodology consists of a bibliographical study through the hermeneutics of texts. The core concepts that help theoretical support for this study, include the themes of Interdisciplinarity, the Crisis of paradigms and the Alternatives for the future in society. Habermas, Freire and Santos are the three authors who base the horizon on the critical reflection on the theme and inspire us in the search for the foundations for a future education. The aim is to build a new model of cultural formation that overcomes the deepest problems in the world today, such as alienation, social exclusion, the trivialization of violence and the current ethical crisis.

La metodología consiste en un estudio bibliográfico, a través de textos hermenéuticos. Los conceptos centrales que sirven de soporte teórico para este estudio incluyen los temas de interdisciplinariedad, la crisis de paradigmas y las alternativas para el futuro en la sociedad. Habermas, Freire y Santos son los tres autores que sirven de horizonte en la reflexión crítica sobre el tema y nos inspiran en la búsqueda de los fundamentos para una educación del futuro. El objetivo es construir un nuevo modelo de formación cultural quesupere los problemas más profundos del mundo actual, como la alienación, la exclusión social, la trivialización de la violencia y la actual crisis ética.O artigo tem o objetivo de discutir os problemas centrais que a educação contemporânea enfrenta em relação aos processos formativos, tais como: o perfil dos egressos dos cursos em relação às necessidades e demandas da sociedade, a urgência de um conhecimento interdisciplinar e a responsabilidade ética e cidadã. A metodologia consiste num estudo bibliográfico, via hermenêutica de textos. Os conceitos centrais que servem de aporte teórico para este estudo compreendem as temáticas da Interdisciplinaridade, da Crise de paradigmas e as Alternativas para o futuro em sociedade. Habermas, Freire e Santos são os três autores que servem de horizonte na reflexão crítica sobre o tema e nos inspiram na busca dos fundamentos para uma educação do futuro.
