This article presents a collectivity that was built by the exchange of knowledge during the self-training paths of a teacher and a community of narrator children, whose ties and knots were woven and intertwined in the various editions of the course “Art of storytelling”, developed in a Center Municipal Cultural Education, in the Municipality of Araucaria, southern Brazil. The main theoretical reflections are about the establishment of playful performance, about the symbiotic process between those who narrate a story and those who listen to it, about the role of the child who, in the exercise of telling and listening to stories, builds knowledge, feeds his imagination and develops his creativity, and on the advantages of the horizontality of the relationship between children and adults who become more conscious authors of their life stories. Three experiences lived during the course are reported, recalling the stories that dealt with difficult topics such as death, the condition of women in society, racism, in addition to detailing the activities implemented that made it possible to train children as storytellers.
