Resumo: This article analyzes the linguistic games present in sources of different natures, in the educational and civilizing project oriented towards Brazilian indigenous people, manifested by a group of writers from the turn of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. This work is delimited between 1890 and 1910 and considered the intellectual environment that chose the indigenist theme as the core of one of the educational projects of this period. The analysis is guided by Linguistic Contextualism - Pocock and Quentin Skinner - whose focus is on the pragmatic dimension of political discourse and the relationship between experienced reality and language. Regarding the sources, they were produced by different subjects, who showed, in the public scene, conceptions about the theme of this work. Although the writers listed here have generic positions on some issues related to Brazilian indigenous peoples, there is a consensus that education would be the power that would enable the process of insertion of these peoples in the civilizing process, with a bias that had as a project the construction of a “Brazilian identity”, in which the indigenous people occupied an important place.

Este trabajo se delimita entre 1890 y 1910 y considera el ambiente intelectual que eligió la temática indigenista como eje de uno de los proyectos educativos de este período. El análisis se guía por el Contextualismo Lingüístico - Pocock y Quentin Skinner - cuyo foco está en la dimensión pragmática del discurso político y la relación entre la realidad experimentada y el lenguaje. En cuanto a las fuentes, fueron producidas por diferentes sujetos, quienes manifestaron, en la escena pública, concepciones sobre el tema de este trabajo. A pesar de que los autores enumerados aquí tienen posiciones genéricas sobre algunas cuestiones relacionadas con los pueblos indígenas brasileños, existe un consenso de que la educación sería el poder que posibilitaría el proceso de inserción de estos pueblos en el proceso civilizatorio, con un sesgo que tenía como proyecto la construcción de una “identidad brasileña”, en la que los indígenas ocuparon un lugar importanteCet article analyse les jeux linguistiques présents dans des sources de différentes natures, dans le projet éducatif et civilisationnel orienté vers les peuples indigènes brésiliens, manifesté par un groupe d'écrivains du tournant du XIXe siècle et du début du XXe siècle. Ce travail est défini entre 1890 et 1910 et considère le milieu intellectuel qui a choisi le thème indigéniste comme noyau de l'un des projets éducatifs de cette période. L'analyse est guidée par le contextualisme linguistique - Pocock et Quentin Skinner - dont l'accent est mis sur la dimension pragmatique du discours politique et la relation entre réalité vécue et langage. En ce qui concerne les sources, elles ont été produites par différents sujets, qui ont montré, sur la scène publique, des conceptions sur le thème de cette œuvre. A análise pauta-se no Contextualismo Linguístico - Pocock e Quentin Skinner - cujo foco encontra-se na dimensão pragmática do discurso político e relação entre a realidade experienciada e a linguagem. Em relação às fontes, as mesmas foram produzidas por diferentes sujeitos, que evidenciaram, na cena pública, concepções acerca do tema deste trabalho.
