RESEARCH IN EDUCATION AND ICT IN LATIN AMERICA: CROSS-CUTTING THEMES

Resumo: The article reflects on the relationships between the emergence and persistence of social problems and the development of scientific knowledge aimed at explaining and understanding them as keys to understanding current contexts. It focuses on recognizing the constitution and renewal of research agendas in Education based on the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) as a prominent factor in educational policies in Latin America. The article presents a thematic systematization of dissertations and theses developed in the Education, Communication and Technologies research group (GEC/UFBA), integrated by a large number of researchers from Latin American countries. The result is a confluence of research that addresses topics that are common to several countries in the region, such as the digital gap, teachers formation, the insertion of technologies in schools, the 1:1 model and open knowledge, all of which are influenced by public policies.

El artículo reflexiona sobre las relaciones entre el surgimiento y persistencia de los problemas sociales y el desarrollo del conocimiento científico orientado a explicarlos y conocerlos como claves para comprender los contextos actuales. Específicamente se enfoca en reconocer la constitución y renovación de agendas de investigación en Educación basadas en la introducción de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) como un factor destacado en las políticas educativas en América Latina. Para ello, presenta una sistematización temática de disertaciones y tesis desarrolladas en el grupo de investigación Educación, Comunicación y Tecnologías (GEC/FACED/UFBA), compuesto por un gran número de investigadores de países latinoamericanos. El resultado es una confluencia de investigaciones que abordan temas comunes a varios países de la región, como la brecha digital, la formación docente, la inserción de tecnologías en las escuelas, en el modelo 1:1, y el conocimiento abierto, los cuales están influenciados por las políticas públicas. O artigo reflete sobre as relações existentes entre o surgimento e a persistência de problemas sociais e o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos científicos orientados a explicá-los e conhecê-los como chaves para compreender os contextos atuais. Foca especificamente no reconhecimento da constituição e renovação de agendas de pesquisa em Educação a partir da introdução das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) como fator destacado nas políticas educativas na América Latina. Para isso, apresenta uma sistematização temática das dissertações e teses desenvolvidas no grupo de pesquisa Educação, Comunicação e Tecnologias (GEC/FACED/UFBA), composto por grande número de pesquisadores procedentes de países latino-americanos.
