Resumo: This text, ethically committed to the uplift of life, is an attempt to respond to the harassment of contemporary production of sad passions that constantly seek to subdue our bodies. To do so, it seeks to be with Jorge Amado’s literature, understood in terms of his commitment to freeing life from what de-potentializes it. With the aim of producing an alternative circuit of affections, now governed by joy, this text joins hands with Quincas Wateryell, in addition to Spinoza (2017), Didi-Huberman (2012), Gilles Deleuze (2002), Suely Rolnik (2018) and Pelbart (2016). It is a question of accessing Quincas in what he emanates from strength towards us, producing an increase in our power to act – an indispensable condition for the establishment of other modes of existence.

It is a question of accessing Quincas in what he emanates from strength towards us, producing an increase in our power to act – an indispensable condition for the establishment of other modes of existence.
