Resumo: | The article discusses the narrative strategies employed by American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman which aimed at subverting literary conventions that could have prevented her from representing a woman’s inner struggles. The article also aims at discussing how such subversion may be related not only to the literary realm but also to the social restraints with which women were forced to deal during the second half of the nineteenth century in The United States of America. |
