Resumo: | Essential to the production of certain music of the late sixteenth century to early nineteenth century, rhetoric is an fundamental component for its use, related with grammar, as well as its their suitability in the musical structures of the time, to be understood and clarified in the musical discourse. This process went through a systematization and theorization improved by several writers of musical rhetoric, whose postulate was based on the eminent masters of Classical Rhetoric, Aristotle, Cicero and Quintilian, thus establishing a nomenclature known as Musica Poetica. Resulting from this methodology, several treatises highlighted the means by which music could be elaborated in a discourse organized and ordered by rhetorical elements so as to moving the affections of the listener. In this regard, both the field of musicology, performance and theory/analysis in the last fifty years, has been showing interest in the subject developing countless researches through rhetorical-musical analysis, aimed at clarifying the relationship between music and affection namely, music, philosophy and hermeneutics, for example, besides its influence and its use in the Brazilian colonial music by some composers. |
