Resumo: This study investigated oxygen uptake (VO2), blood lactate (LA), heart rate (HR), aerobic contribution (AC), relative mean power (MP) and relative peak power (PP) during four upper body Wingate tests with three minutes of rest among them, performed by 15 judo athletes. The comparison among tests was made through an one-way ANOVA with repeated measures. There was a MP decrease during the tests, except from test three to test four, whereas PP did not differ between tests one and two and between tests three and four. The AC was lower in test one compared to the others and LA increased during the tests. The MP decrease during the tests seems to be related to a lower glycolitic pathway activation. The increase in AC was not enough to maintain the performance in the subsequent tests.
