Resumo: This article presents Geraldo Horácio de Paula Souza’s private archive, emphasizing the trajectory of its holder and personal aspects of the history of the Instituto de Higiene (current Faculdade de Saúde Pública da Universidade de São Paulo), of which he was the first director. Recurring themes of his bibliography and the relations between the archive and his intellectual production are presented. Finally, the article also presents the documentary sets the file, describing the process of organizing the collection and preparation of a search tool, available to researchers. Discussed are the documents gathered in joint intellectual production, tributes, correspondence, personal documents, clippings of newspapers, miscellaneous and photos, characterized from its content, time-limits, themes and types. One of the goals is to emphasize the importance of the archive in the study of topics in history Public Health in Brazil and the world.

São apresentados temas recorrentes de sua bibliografia e as relações entre o arquivo e sua produção intelectual. Apresenta, também, os conjuntos documentais do arquivo, descrevendo o processo de organização do acervo e de elaboração do instrumento de pesquisa, disponibilizado aos pesquisadores. Comenta-se, ainda, os documentos reunidos nos conjuntos Produção Intelectual, Homenagens, Correspondência, Documentos Pessoais, Recortes de Jornais, Miscelânea e Fotografias, caracterizados a partir de seu conteúdo, datas-limites, temáticas e tipologias.
