This article intends to argue the decurrent problems of dispersion a documentary set between two or more institutions and the challenge that it presents at the moment of the organization when we have necessity to understand the logic of your accumulation. For in such a way we will present the case of the engineer Catullo Branco’s documentation that was donated by his family, in occasion of his death, to three different institutions. To Companhia Energética de São Paulo - CESP, was donated the documentation referring to his professional activity, to the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros – IEB/USP, was delivered part of his library and to the Instituto Astrojildo Pereira, servant for intellectuals of the Brazilian Communist Party, was donated the documentation referring to his performance politic.
