The university library plays an important role in promoting the quality of teaching, research and university extension and in order for it to fulfil its role with excellence, it is essential to have effective management that measures and evaluates the performance of activities, products and services using indicators, seeking to ensure that the actions proposed are in line with institutional objectives and goals. Communication is the basis of library activities and requires management based on indicators to provide subsidies to guide decisions in different institutional contexts. This research aims to propose communication management indicators for university libraries that allow a systemic perception. Methodologically, it is a bibliographical, exploratory study that used questionnaires and interviews as data collection instruments. The indicators were validated using the Delphi method. The results point to the lack of studies on the subject in the field of Information Science and the absence of communication indicators in the performance evaluation instruments already published. This research presents ten communication management indicators for university libraries and highlights the importance of studying and applying this instrument.
