Biblioteca pública como dispositivo de transformação social e a Agenda 2030

The work presents a study on the public library, its potential and the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations. Therefore, a bibliographic search was carried out in the Information Science Database (BRAPCI) and in the repository of the Brazilian Federation of Librarians, Information Scientists, and Institutions Associations (FEBAB) to find publications with dates between 2015 and 2021. From this search, some scientific productions that present actions developed by public libraries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by Agenda 2030 were selected. This bibliographic material was analyzed to know how public libraries have been leading the social transformation of their communities based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. It was concluded that the actions developed by public libraries to meet the SDGs are important and that other libraries should get involved in this campaign and disseminate their actions and results to inspire new actions.
